Everything You Need to Know About YPB
SOOOO excited to finally share that Abercrombie is launching a whole new active brand, YPB!!! YPB stands for Your Personal Best and they’re on a mission to help you do and be your personal best each day, regardless of how it may look for you that day. Now, we all know that I loooooove Abercrombie and I’m obsessed with workout gear, so this combo makes my heart so so happy. They actually sent me some gear to try out early, so I’ve been wearing it for the past month and I can honestly say that it’s so so good! I also had the opportunity to go to Abercrombie’s HQ last week to meet with the designers of YPB and get allll the scoop on this new brand. So, today I’m sharing everything you need to know about the fit, feel, performance, and my personal faves!!! These are all my honest opinions (as always!!!), not sponsored, and just my personal thoughts/experience with the brand!
PS- over the past couple years, you may have seen or even purchased some Abercrombie athleisure wear (leggings, biker shorts, tanks, etc)... Well, just wanted to clarify that this line is COMPLETELY different. It’s actually performance fabric and made for SWEAT! You can think of YPB as it’s own brand, with its own fabric, but with the same trust you have for Abercrombie!
Also, you may have seen that over the past couple weeks, Abercrombie released a few YPB items on their site, but EVERYTHING is live today and they have so much more good stuff coming!!!
OKAY on to the deets!!
FABRIC: The leggings, bike shorts, and tanks are all made from the same amazing fabric! They’re squat proof, sweat wicking, and have 4-way stretch. They give that supportive, held in feel without being restrictive. I’ve been putting it to the test during some sweaty workouts recently and love the fabric. It has a soft, brushed feel on the outside but a sleek, smooth feel on the inside... I know you guys will ask, so I’d say it’s most similar to the Wunder Trains from lululemon. They’re comfy and stretchy but still supportive.
FIT: In my opinion, everything runs TTS. I originally tried out a size small in everything and it fit great, but I decided that I wanted to do an XS in the leggings because I like my leggings to fit extra tight! This is consistent with what I wear in other brands… for example, in Athleta leggings, I do an XS and in Aligns, I go down to a size 2. This is a personal preference! Also, I love how the back of the leggings have a Y shaped seam above the booty. It’s super flattering! In the tops, I did a size small and they fit like a size small! Sometimes, in workout tops I like to go up a size so I tried out the Medium in the henley top because it snaps and I liked the fit of the medium better! If you have a larger chest, I’d maybe go up in the henley so you don’t feel like it’s gapping with the snaps. The leggings are 7/8th length and they also come in a “short version”. The bike shorts are 7” inseam (I’m 5’5” for height reference). I also want to say that I LOVE where the tanks hit on me - they’re cropped but not too cropped! They have a built in bra and pads as well!
PERFORMANCE & FEEL: I honestly feel amazing working out in YPB! The leggings stay up don’t slide or roll down. I feel supported and smooth and I know that nothing is see through. Everything is stretchy and comfortable and the sweat wicking fabric pulls sweat away from your body. I know you guys will ask if you can see sweat through… yes you can in the lighter colors! Honestly, it doesn’t bother me.. in lululemon, Athleta, or any other workout gear, I still wear lighter colors and don’t care if my sweat shows!
I’ve now worn YPB during high intensity workouts, my lower impact weight lifting workouts, and on my long walks and I can honestly say that it stood the test during all of these workouts! I didn’t need to pull or readjust frequently.
MY FAVES:
7/8 Leggings - sized down to XS for tighter fit
Square Neck Tank - size small (med works for me too!)
Henley Tank - size up to medium so the snaps aren’t too tight over my chest
Bike shorts - XS and small both fit great
Run shorts - XS and small both fit great
For reference, I’m a 26 in jeans, I wear a 2 in Aligns, and a 4 in Wunder Under and Wunder Train and an XS in Athleta Leggings
