Fav Lululemon Leggings
Today I’m finally sharing my favorite lululemon leggings…it’s been a long time coming! This is one of my most requested topics and I constantly get asked what the differences are between the Wunder Under, Wunder Train, and Align leggings. So, I’m breaking it all down for you as well as answering some FAQs.
Wunder Under
The Wunder Under is my favorite lululemon style and the legging I reach for most. They are made from a Luxtreme fabric making them a sweaty staple. They suck you in and have a bit of compression, but are still comfy and easy to move in. I feel very supported in them but they’re not restrictive. I wear a size 4 and like the 25" length - they hit right above my ankles like the 7/8 length (I’m 5’5” for height ref). The fabric has a sleek feel, they’re cool to the touch, and I don't have to tug at them or pull them up. They stay put all day and best of all, they don’t attract any lint... hello my fellow pet owners and fuzzy blanket lovers! I can wear these for literally any workout and feel great in them and I can also wear them in a casual setting. Overall, these are my favorite because of the sleek feel of the fabric and the supportive, sucked in feel!
Wunder Train
The Wunder Train leggings are another one of my favorite lululemon legging styles. They’re made from the Everlux fabric - think of it as a mix between the Luxtreme and Nulu fabrics. If the Wunder Under and Align had a baby, the Wunder Train would be it. These are made of lululemon's fastest drying material which feels cool on the inside like the Wunder Under and has a softer, brushed feel on the outside like the Align. They have a drawstring on the waistband, but I just leave it in place and never pull them tighter. Similar to the Wunder Under, the Wunder Trains are supportive and stay in place which makes them great for intense training. I also feel like they come up a little higher on the waist (just a tad). I wear a size 4 and 25" length in these. I love that this material dries so fast, but I miss that sleek feel on the outside that the Wunder Under provides. This style sometimes has more color options, and I’m a sucker for those!
Align
The Align leggings are my go-to when I want a buttery soft and comfortable pair. They’re made of the Nulu fabric which is so lightweight, soft, and stretchy, it feels like you’re wearing next-to-nothing. Technically, these aren't made for high intensity workouts. They were designed for yoga, but I also love wearing them to lounge in. These aren’t going to suck you in like the Wunder Under leggings, but they have a weightless, barely there feeling. I size down to a 2 in these because they have much more stretch and I prefer my leggings to be tighter. Because of the stretch, they tend to come up a little higher on the waist as well. I do wear these for workouts occasionally, but usually for workouts with a little less impact like a weightlifting day or Solidcore class. I do find myself pulling and adjusting these a little more than the other two styles (again, probably because of the super stretchy fabric). I like the 25" length in these, but the full-length pair are great for winter (so my ankles don’t show) and I like to wear them on a comfy day with my favorite UGG boots. Some people really don’t like a compressive feel when it comes to leggings… If that’s you, then Aligns are probably your best bet! It all comes down to personal preference.
FAQs
What is the sizing like?
lululemon runs small, so refer to their size chart. I wear a size 4 in Wunder Under and Wunder Train and a size 2 in the Align (they're stretchier). For size ref, I’m a 26 in jeans.
Do they show sweat?
Any color other than black or a black camo shows sweat for me. I still wear light colored leggings at times because I think they're fun and workouts are meant to be sweaty... but if I don’t want to look like I just peed my pants, I’ll go for black or a camo print.
Are they see-through?
No, I haven't found that any of my lululemon leggings are see-through, even the lighter colored ones. And yes, I’ve done the squat test in front of a mirror ;)
How do you wash them?
I have a whole blog post about how I wash my workout clothes here.
Which style is your favorite?
If I had to pick just one, I’d choose the Wunder Under style. They’re supportive, have a sleek feel, and I never have to tug or adjust them!
How tall are you?
I’m 5'5" and wear the 25" so they hit right above my ankle.
Do they pill?
I've never had a pair of lululemon leggings pill, but have heard that the Align leggings can pill if you wear them for high intensity workouts. Like I mentioned, they're designed for yoga and low intensity workouts.
Are they worth the money?
In my opinion, yes absolutely! Lululemon are by far my favorite leggings and I’ve tried a LOT of them. They’re high quality and hold up great over time. Plus, they make me feel so much more confident while working out and you really can’t put a price on that!
The different lululemon styles really come down to personal preference. I own and wear all three styles, but I definitely reach for the Wunder Under the most. They’re super supportive, sleek and flattering, plus I like that I don’t have to run a lint roller over them - yay! What are your favorite lululemon styles?
