The Makeup I Wore for My Brother's Wedding
For those of you who don’t already know, I celebrated my brother’s wedding over the weekend and had an amazing time! I was surprised at how many of you commented on my makeup since I didn’t get it professionally done, and I have to say, I was pretty impressed myself. I was even more surprised by the fact that my makeup stayed in place all day, especially given that it was an outdoor wedding in the middle of August in Virginia. If you’ve ever experienced a summer in Virginia then you know the heat and humidity is NO joke! So, if you want to see all the products I used to achieve this makeup look that didn’t budge, then keep scrolling!
Makeup Details
Primer & Setting Spray - I used the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Face Primer to prime my skin, and the Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray to set my makeup. The two come in a set and are the perfect duo for getting your makeup to last all day!
Foundation - For foundation, I used the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation in the shade 4 Neutral. The name speaks for itself - it just gives you that airbrushed finish! Afterwards, I applied this pressed powder in the shade Fair to set the foundation with my favorite powder brush.
Concealer - I used the Tarte Creaseless Concealer in the shade 20N Light because it’s my absolute favorite concealer and it doesn’t crease. I also have a discount code for Tarte: use KathleenPost for 15% off!
Setting Powder - The humidity always calls for some setting powder, and I used this Fenty one in the shade Banana.
Blush - I wanted more of a dewy look, so I wend with the Rare Beauty Liquid Blush in the shade Happy. It gave me the most beautiful ‘lit from within’ glow!
Bronzer - For bronzer, I used my favorite drugstore bronzer, the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in the shade Deep Bronze. I honestly prefer it to more expensive brands because it is so easy to apply and is the perfect shade (not too orange or ashy).
Highlighter - I love using highlighter, especially for special occasions. I think it just makes your cheekbones pop, so I went in with this Fenty Highlighter in the shade Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal.
Eyeshadow - Since I was traveling, I decided to bring this Tarte Toasted Eyeshadow Palette and it had every color I needed. If you want a palette that has a mixture of matte and shimmery shades, then this one has some beautiful warm tones that are super versatile.
Eyeliner - Nobody likes eyeliner that smears, especially when you’re having to take a bunch of photos for a wedding! So, I used this Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eyeliner in the shade Sepia Ink with this eyeliner brush - they are the perfect duo!
Mascara - For mascara, I used my tried and true L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara - I swear by this drugstore mascara and have been using it for years!
Brow Pencil & Gel - For brows, I used the Charlotte Tilbury Brow Cheat in the shade Taupe and this brow sculpting gel for more of a feathery look. I topped them off with this clear brow gel.
Lipstick & Liner - For the perfect nude pink lip, I lined my lips with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Liner. Then, I applied the matching Pillow Talk Lipstick - you absolutely can’t go wrong with the Pillow Talk shade!
